Google Play is a Web service portal created by Google and launched in March 2012. Originally, introduced in 2008 as the Android Market, Google Play consolidates the search giant\u2019s app market and movie, video, music and e-book offerings, allowing users to download, play and use games, apps, music, movies and books from a central location.<\/p>\n
Google Play’s services are similar to Apple’s iTunes and iCloud. It can be thought of as Google’s answer to rival Apple\u2019s rising dominance in the personal cloud service market. <\/p>\n
