EA unveiled a 2024 roadmap video for The Sims 4, teasing new content directly featuring the Grim Reaper, a fan-favorite character. Among the highlights is the upcoming Life and Death Expansion Pack, set for release on October 31, just in time for Halloween.?
Though details about the expansion are currently minimal, EA told players they will “embark on an endless journey through life and beyond,” suggesting new gameplay elements involving the afterlife or resurrecting long-gone Sims. The game studio confirmed it will share more information about this paid DLC on October 3.
Before the expansion, players can look forward to the Reaper’s Rewards Event, which will be available in the base game starting September 24.
During this event, players will be able to earn free items by completing in-game tasks related to the Grim Reaper. However, those hoping for more romantic or familial interactions with the Grim Reaper may be disappointed, as such features have not yet been officially teased as part of the upcoming content (you can always use cheats for that).
Two New Kits Coming
In addition to these Reaper-themed updates, EA has announced two new Kits launching on September 19: the Storybook Nursery Kit and the Artist Studio Kit. The first one is designed to give Sims’ babies a stylish start, while the Artist Studio Kit introduces new tools to create an inspiring space for creative Sims.
These updates are part of EA’s “To Be Continued” season, which aims to keep the decade-old game fresh with a mix of free and paid content.
As The Sims 4 celebrates its tenth anniversary (and The Sims 5 is still a long way off), EA continues to expand the game’s universe, showing no signs of slowing down in providing new ways for players to explore the lives and deaths of their Sims.
