New collaborative skins, un-vaulted Halloween-themed weapons, map changes, and the returning Horde Rush mode are confirmed to be released with the update

Fortnitemares 2024 Event Time
Epic Games announced that the initial release date would be October 11, 2024, and would launch with the 31.40 update. However, the planned server downtime to add the Halloween update has been delayed, so the new Fornitemares release date is expected to be October 12, 2024.
Specific times for Fortnite Halloween skins release dates have yet to be confirmed, but we can speculate when they will be released based on previous release schedules.
After the 2023 launch, the first wave of additional skins went live on October 13. The next wave of skins was released several days later, on October 17, and the final line of skins was available on October 20. A similar schedule may occur this year, but this has yet to be confirmed.

A Fortnite Halloween costume takes center stage in the reveal trailer. Prices and bundle items have yet to be revealed. This skin is believed to be a variant of a current skin; it has been called “Lexa Hexbringer” by leaker ShiinaBR on Twitter. Details have yet to be confirmed.
Mephisto:?
Mephisto continues the Marvel theme of the season. Details surrounding his bundle have yet to be confirmed. According to a tweet by iFireMonkey, there are Mephisto-themed items you can use in battle: Mephisto’s Gift, Boast, and Bargain.
The cover image also reveals additional reskins and returning Fortnitemares skins coming to the Halloween event:
- Dark Ruby Skin, with Dark Slicer Pickaxe and Shadow Glyphs Wrap.
- Knightmare Skin, with Knightmare Carver Pickaxe, the Haunting Helm Back Bling, and Cursed Dreams Wrap.
- Omega Pumpkin Skin.
- Additional returning Fortnitemare 2023 skins.
Fortnitemares leaks have also surfaced surrounding further developments between the Fortnite and Disney collab, revealing new Disney villains coming to the Halloween event. Release dates, bundle items, and prices have yet to be announced.

Battle Royale
According to a tweet made by HYPEX, six new landmarks will be added to the battle royale map, and current areas in the game will also get updated. This has yet to be confirmed by Epic Games.
Weapons
Halloween themed weapons are making a return, which players can loot to bring a new sense of horror to games. Some of these items appear in the leaked gameplay trailer on Twitter.
A new Mythic weapon has also been rumored to be added in the update. In the same tweet by leaker HYPEX, theories surrounding the Mythic believe it will be based on the Saw collab.
Fortnitemares leaks also suggest that Horde Rush, first released in 2019, could potentially make a return. Horde Rush is a limited-time co-op mode in which players fight waves of cube-infused monsters and survive to defeat the final boss.
LEGO Fortnite
Fortnite’s LEGO mode will receive the “Brick or Treat Event Pass”, featuring various building sets and parts to further customize your blocky worlds.
The premium track will cost 1,400 V-bucks, allowing players to unlock 11 additional rewards and instant access to Andy Fangerson’s skin for LEGO and Battle Royale. The pass will go live alongside the Fortnitemares release date and last until December 10, 2024, before the items enter the shop.
Finally, players looking to experience the Halloween event with friends can enjoy a new split-screen feature. This is a great addition for players looking to play local co-op in the survival game. Split-screen for LEGO Fortnite will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.
Rocket Racing
According to tweets by IFireMonkey, Rocket Racing will also receive new collaborative Halloween-themed features and Fortnitemares rewards.
Around this time, it is believed that Rocket Racing will enter its third season since it launched in December 2023, and with a new season comes new content.
During the event, current activities such as Time Trials, Ranked Quests, and Weekly Challenges are expected to be disabled. This has yet to be confirmed, but we will update you once more Fortnitemares news is announced.
Fortnite Festival
The Festival may potentially see the least amount of new content, with new skins and general bug fixes leaked to be released for the mode.

Fortnitemare End Time
Though an official end date has yet to be confirmed, Fortnitemare usually lasts just over three weeks. This has remained consistent every year for the Halloween events.
The current release date is similar to last year’s. Last year’s Fortnitemare launched on October 10, 2023. The event began in early October and ended in early November.
Taking the delay into consideration, we estimate that Fortnitemares’ end time may be between November 3 and November 4, 2024. The specific time may vary depending on the region.
