Dead by Daylight Spin-Off Release Date Announced

Supermassive Games and Behaviour Interactive have announced the release date for their upcoming single-player horror game, The Casting of Frank Stone, a spin-off from the popular multiplayer title Dead by Daylight.

Scheduled to launch on September 3, the game will immerse players in a chilling narrative set in Cedar Hills, Oregon, circa 1980.

According to a new trailer published yesterday, the story will focus on a group of aspiring filmmakers who venture into an abandoned steel mill to shoot their horror opus, “Murder Mill.”

Unbeknownst to them, their cinematic ambitions awaken an evil force, turning their film shoot into a fight for survival against an insidious evil lurking in the shadows.

Drawing from the narrative-driven gameplay that Supermassive Games has refined in titles like Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, The Casting of Frank Stone will prioritize player choices.

Each decision will influence the story’s direction, affecting character relationships and their fates. Players will navigate through eerie environments, solving puzzles and reacting to Quick Time Events as they uncover the sinister secrets within the mill.

Dead by Daylight Updates

The game’s announcement was part of a broader update during Behaviour Interactive‘s Dead by Daylight 8th anniversary livestream, unveiling new content for the multiplayer horror hit.

This includes a new 2v8 game mode, in which two killers face off against eight survivors across expanded maps. Moreover, Behaviour Interactive revealed plans for cross-progression support starting July 22nd, allowing players to sync their progress and purchases across different platforms.
