You’ll soon be able to use Chrome tab groups across all your devices, letting you finish browsing on one device and pick up where you left off on another.
If you’re looking up activities for an upcoming trip on your phone, but want to dive into the details on a bigger screen, you can firstcreate a tab group on your phone to organize all your results.
The tab group now automatically syncs to your desktop, so you can pick up where you left off when you launch Chrome there.
Tab Groups is Coming to iOS
There’s good news for iPhone and iPad users too as tab groups comes to iOS. Already available on Android and desktop, you’ll soon be able to use tab groups on Chrome across all your Apple devices.
Tab groups lets you group related tabs together, making it easier to stay organized. You can rearrange tabs once you’ve grouped them and even assign groups a color and custom name.
Here’s how to use tab groups on iOS:
- Open the tab grid in Chrome on your iPhone or iPad.
- Long-press a tab.
- Select Add Tab to New Group.
Chrome Gets Proactive with Suggested Pages
The final improvement coming to Chrome is an experimental one. Chrome will suggest pages you might wish to revisit based on tabs you’ve opened on other devices.
If you’re browsing a website for some new shoes at work and want to get back to it during your journey home, there’s no need to add a bookmark. Chrome’s New Tab page across desktop, Android, and iOS will suggest pages you visited earlier and might want to revisit.
