Jannik Sinner vs Novak Djokovic Preview

World number one Novak Djokovic takes on fourth seed Jannik Sinner on Sunday, for the right to be named ATP World Tour champion.

The pair have already met in the group stages of the competition earlier this month, with Sinner edging the match by two sets to one in an extremely close game that ended in a third set tiebreaker going to the Italian.

The number four seed won his first group stage game in straight sets against Stefanos Tsitsipas, followed by wins against Djokovic and Holger Rune to earn a place in the semi-final on Saturday against Daniil Medvedev.

Sinner was able to come out on top against the Russian third seed in three sets, with a dominant 6-1 final set booking a place against Djokovic in this afternoon’s final.

Djokovic didn’t have as smooth a run to the final as his opponent, with all three of his group stage games going to three sets including the loss against Sinner.

Wins against Holger Rune and Hubert Hurkacz earned the world number one a spot in the semi-finals against familiar rival Carlos Alcaraz, but a statement win from Djokovic against the number two seed saw him cruise into the final after straight sets.

If Djokovic is able to beat Sinner on Sunday afternoon then he will tie Roger Federer for the most titles in tournament history, claiming his seventh ATP Finals title.
