Gottlob Frege was born Friedrich Ludwig Gottlob Frege on November 8, 1848, in Winsmar, Germany. He studied chemistry, philosophy and mathematics at the University of Jena, then transferred to the University of G?ttingen, where he received his PhD. He then received a lectureship at the University of Jena. Although there was little interest in his early writings, he gradually developed very influential ideas in the fields of philosophy, logic and mathematics (and especially where they all intersected).
