Advertising Policy

At Techopedia, we strive to be a trusted resource in the tech industry. Transparency plays an important role in connecting with our readers and when it comes to advertising on our site, clarity and openness are our priority.

Techopedia contracts with relevant organizations within our industry to share beneficial products and services to you and all of our readers. Whenever we select our partners we keep you first in mind, and you can always trust us to take our advertising guidelines very seriously.

Advertising Guidelines

When it comes to sponsorship opportunities, the product or service in question must not be inaccurate or misleading

Know that in no way do any of our advertising channels affect our our editorial sections. It is also imperative for us to help readers distinguish between our content and advertising which may take on various forms, including:

Sponsored Content

Sponsored content is working in conjunction with an advertiser on a topic that is relevant to them. We may take input on relevant topic areas, however we maintain editorial autonomy. You can easily identify our sponsored content as it will be labeled with a byline that states: “Presented By” or “Featured Partner.”

Display Ads

Display ads are banner advertisements featured on Techopedia, some of which are provided by direct advertisers and/or ad networks based on broad parameters set by our team. In some instances, the display banner is influenced by the reader’s browser history. We do not endorse any of the products or services or the companies within the ad creative.

We also do not permit any display ads — at any time — that are harmful, illegal, or objectionable. Specifically, display ads must not contain fraudulent, deceptive, or offensive material, including material that misrepresents, ridicules, or attacks an individual or group on the basis of age, color, national origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, or disability. We do not accept ads for weapons, pornography, drugs, violence, or dating sites.

All display ads are clearly marked with the label: “Advertisement.”

Affiliate Programs

We may earn a small sum from products or services purchased through Techopedia. You’ll recognize our content that’s associated with an affiliate program as it will be labeled: “This post contains affiliate links.”

Giveaways

We offer giveaways of products that have been provided to us at no cost by an organization or manufacturer in exchange for a fee. We select these items based on relevancy to our audience. A prize is always awarded according to the conditions indicated.

Quizzes

Quizzes are a great way to test your knowledge. Our quizzes may also include an opt-in to have your email address entered for a prize offered by a sponsorship partner. If you give us your consent, your email address will be forwarded to the partner awarding the prize.

Social Media

Any social media posts with an advertising message will be labeled as such with language: “Presented by”, “Sponsored,” “Partner Promotion,” “Thanks Sponsor,” or “Ad.”

Readers are at the center of everything we do. Please contact us with questions, comments or suggestions. We’d like to hear from you!
